IBM Impact: WebLayers and Ford Address Software Glitches

It's been an interesting year since the last IBM IMPACT conference.  In a lot of ways, this conference is like Old Home Week for me having been the CEO of Lotus and having stayed on for several years after the IBM acquisition. So along with reconnecting with some of the smartest folks in the industry, IMPACT also gives me a chance to learn about what's on the horizon because IBM is always years ahead of the rest of the industry.

From a WebLayers perspective, we're excited about a lot of things happening at IMPACT. Here's a quick rundown.

Sessions of Interest:

PCI Compliance, WebSphere MQ and IT Governance: learn how to apply IT governance to PCI Compliance with WebSphere MQ as WebLayers and Evans Resource Group present, "Get a Queue: Automated IT Governance for WebSphere MQ."

Date/Time/Location: Tuesday, May 4, 12:00-1:00: Casanova Room 503

Ford Motor Company, IT Governance and Preventing Software Glitches: Learn how to adopt IT governance across the company from a technology and cultural perspective in "Smart Governance: It's Not Just for SOA Anymore."

Date/Time/Location: Wednesday, May 5, 10:30-11:15 Casanova Room 503

Giveways:

Win an iPad: visit the WebLayers booth (S7) and enter to win a free iPad.

"Glitch" Book: get a sneak peek of my new book "Glitch: The Hidden Impact of Faulty Software" due out this fall and published by Prentice Hall.  Read how software glitches in auto manufacturing, banking, and healthcare will disrupt the global economy and the role of IT in the very near future and how companiesand government agencies like Ford, IBM and the United States Department of Defense are addressing them.

IBM Business Partner Summit: is a great opportunity to exchange ideas with decision makers at IBM as well as connect with other partners to maximize the value of participation in IBM's partner program.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at all at IMPACT and blogging live from the event.
